About me
Hello! My name is Mari and I am a photographer from St. Petersburg. I have been professionally engaged in photography for the past 5 years primarily focusing on portrait photography.
It is important to me that my photography evokes a sense of “admiration” — something to be enjoyed, observed, and cherished. I want the viewer’s gaze to be captivated by each photo, treating it like a painting. That’s why I often find inspiration in movies, books, sculptures, nature, music, and most importantly in people and their stories.
And of course photography is the tool through which I want to show that the world is incredibly beautiful and every person is beautiful and unique! There is no place for right or wrong. All beauty is revealed in uniqueness.
Komorebi (japanese 木 漏 れ 日) — this is the term from Japanese culture that refers to the phenomenon created by sunlight passing through the leaves of trees, resulting in intricate shadows and patterns formed by the interplay of light and nature. The Japanese see in this phenomenon the wisdom of nature which is why they never describe it as usual sunlight. I love noticing these subtle phenomena in ordinary things, capturing them, and finding inspiration in them.
